shine

My dear shu, I'm dating you and there's no question about that. :)

Anyhow, I'm almost done with one essay. And I still have another one to do. Great stuff.

I wont whine or dream, but I really miss home. Enough said.

Rain Down

Last night was, in a word, divine. :) I haven't had the chance to sit down in the rain, and appreciate water elements. Gee, I'm such a sucker for those. Nature liberates my very stressed up self. :)

So if anyone needs a walk, I'd recommend one to Lincon Square North. And go when its drizzling! Even more therapeutic, trust me. Now I feel like climbing Mt William again. Imagine me all psyched up to watch the sunset. Simply the Best.

People who hang with me would know I have this pension for doing very very random things. I'd lie on the cricket field if it wasnt wet. And while we're at it, I'd run through the sprinklers too ! Awesome, ain't it !

Anyhow, the week's been ace albeit not accomplishing much work. For the girs, other updates will be done during our one-on-one coffee sessions. Its a date. This mid November, regardless of their commitments, I would like to date...

  • My family
  • The CU-PO: shu, yy, pau, manda, aude, na, pee wee & li (you better get your butt back home)
  • Jae (feel the loving darling! ) sam, va, diffy, wyn. (JEWEMS, basically)
  • The Melbourne Palmerston darlings: chello, yi, juls and kelly !
  • char oon, vern, yogs, and the LD people.
  • MABEL HO.
  • The Msians :)
  • Charissa when she gets back :)
  • Chia hui ling
  • who is also part of 4th floor scheps :)
  • The IH people (you know, allen carmen, etc etc)
  • .....

I might be on a perpetual caffeine high at this rate I'm gonna hang with people during my 3 month long break :) But hey man, this is what holidays are for.

the dark

its 3.15AM.
MAMAK night was...a-okay. I expected better. ( but then again, my expectations are high)

I need a trip away from here. Maybe, just maybe, I might climb our sad little Bukit Timah Hill. Just cos there's no Grampians of any kind back home.

Ever since I've come to Melbourne, it has occured to me that I take after Mum a lot. A LOT. too much for my own sake.

But I miss home and the girlfriends very very much. so much it isnt even funny. Hahhhhhhh.

P.S -- JAE I should be making it back for your partehhhhhh !

Lots of love :)

Did You Know?

It is estimated that at any one time, 0.7% of people in this world are drunk.

only you

Look at the time. Its insane, I know. I've spent the whole night in bed, not being able to get 40 winks. Okay, maybe...10 winks or sth. But still, I'm going to die today.

When everything feels quite right and things fall into the right perspective, go for it. :)
Cos I made a decision I won't regret.

All's good for now. I like where things are.

SHEESH

I've just spent a grand total of $28.35 on stationery. You know, how my life needs stationEry once in a while. (pun intended). But it feels good though. I reckon the girly side of me loves shopping since it's so damn therapeutic.

Funny how a demanding girl like me is so easily satisfied with the purchase of clips, 4 sleek highlighters, a cheap box of paperclips (they're overpriced anywhere else, really), a lovely, just so beautiful card, a fat little notebook and more.

In front of me is a list. And I reckon its getting longer each day. Then again, its my fault for not keeping it as short as possible.

Every time the exams draw closer, I have an inherent tendency to escape. Like run away from University, into the wild areas of this world. I would often picture myself being thrown into fauna. (I actually like flowers). New Zealand. Japan. America. Italy. Rome. Just anywhere but where I am. As they always put it, "the grass is greener on the other side".

Anyway, today I had interesting exchange of stares with people.

1) I've paid for my purchases at the Uni Supermarket, this guy stares at my face. Then he moves downwards and fixes his glance at my 12 Libra superpads.

He obviously didn't pay attention during Biology class @ High School. University students SHOULD be having their periods. (Unless. You know, constant pregnancy or something). Ouch.

Being the stranger friendly person that I am, I grinned. Guess what? That evidently shook him even more. Gee. He had better not be doing his sciences/biomedical/medicine.

2) Having been glared at for holding my pads, I decided to put them IN the bag to avoid more weird glances. So I place everything I hold on the top of the ice cream chiller, while arranging all the objects in my possession.

The cashier stares at me, almost as if he thought I was going to steal his entire store's ice creams.

Hey man, all I needed was a platform to gather my belongings and the floor (which thousands of Uni students would have trampled upon) just wasn't the place for it.

Today decribed in a word would be, "SHEESH".

stanagted

It is 22 minutes into the afternoon and what the bedingdangs am I doing at college typing? Good stuff. I missed one of my last Global Politics Lectures. Nice work.

Actually, today's topic would've been really interesting. Women, their position and global politics. This is actually of interest to me. Hmn. Now, why did I miss it.

But I had a damn good sleep. :)

Also, within the last two days, I've realised I talk too much.

AHH.

Something Stupid.

A few things are whirling in the little membrane up there. They're very muddled thoughts, so lets put them down in point form.

  • It perturbs me you know. Why people choose to live in a community for the second year and are clearly upset about midnight birthday celebrations.
  • Self helper and Dot are cleaning Colette's room next door and I can't fathom why she left so abruptly. It was a 'woooooosssh'. Right. Where's Colette?
  • People who have played the piano since young have beautiful, slender fingers. (Unlike me)
  • It is pure joy to stop in your tracks and speak to randoms. Today I had a little chat with the cleaner who was leaving. You know, I like that smile on her face when I wished her a great day. :)
  • Living in IH can be quite an addiction. Maybe addiction is too strong a word, but you get the idea. Coming home, if you call this your second or maybe third home, to familiar faces is undoubtedly heart warming.
  • Having read Eel's and Mae's comments on my tag board, I'm feeling the love. Thanks guys.
  • My heart is palpitating too quickly after the complimentary coffee @ the International Student's Lounge at the top of Union House. It is like some therapeutic corner. Just sit there, sip some coffee you actually paid for and do nothing but chill out.
  • It is 3 PM in the afternoon and I'm starting to realise how quick time flies. :)
  • This is strange but I'm feeling unusually chirpy today. So I dont suffer from Monday Blues. :)
  • Great Week everyone ! :)
  • Now, blogger plays tricks on me since I put these in POINT form and they make me seem like an incoherent cow cos all the sentences are split. Blogger the Bummer.

Nonetheless,

Lots of Love. :)

GASP.

Great. I just looked one of my subject readers. Guess what? The procastinator in me just woke up to realise that I have a hell lot of readings to do. Yeah, of course, its 11 weeks of Uni Work. I can't even laugh at it. haa. And who knew those readings were informative, anyway?

And on top of all the other deadlines, I've got an extra essay to write. But, hey, I'm not complaining. (Am i? Hmn..)

Join me in this vision: Get out of Uni quick and I promise I'll be great at work.
Unfortunately, this forseeable vision requires me to be subjected to another 2 or 3 more torturous years in Melb Uni. Or elsewhere. Ahhh, Thats an option! (However, London isn't on the list)

This week I've cut some slack. Real slack. When I mean slack, I refer to going to class and listening in some of the classes. (I mean, honestly, half the time we're spectators in a two or three person debate) But, hey, I'm still loving my subjects.

How much self-convincing have I achieved in this post?

Psychological matters.

Tears in Heaven

Would you know my name if I saw you in heaven?
Would it be the same if I saw you in heaven?
I must be strong and carry on
'Cause I know I don't belong here in heaven

Would you hold my hand if I saw you in heaven?
Would you help me stand if I saw you in heaven?
I'll find my way through night and day
'Cause I know I just can't stay here in heaven

Time can bring you down; time can bend your knees
Time can break your heart, have you begging please, begging please

Beyond the door there's peace I'm sure
And I know there'll be no more tears in heaven

Would you know my name if I saw you in heaven?
Would it be the same if I saw you in heaven?
I must be strong and carry on
'Cause I know I don't belong here in heaven
'Cause I know I don't belong, here in heaven
I'm watching Les Mis tonight ! :)
Time to catch up with the bunch of people I haven't met in eons.

We collide

A light shining through
You're barely waking
And I'm tangled up in you
But I'm open, you're closed
Where I follow, you'll go
I worry I won't see your face
Light up again
Even the best fall down sometimes
Even the wrong words seem to rhyme
Out of the doubt that fills my mind
I somehow find,
you and I collide
I'm quiet, you know
You make a first impression
I've found I'm scared to know
I'm always on your mind
Even the best fall down sometimes
Even the stars refuse to shine
Out of the back you fall in time
You somehow find,
you and I collide
Don't stop here
I've lost my place
I'm close behind
Even the best fall down sometimes
Even the wrong words seem to rhyme
Out of the doubt that fills your mind
You finally find,
you and I collide

Up up & awake

Someone called me at 8.30AM and hung up.

From now on, that's not going to be deemed "an unearthly hour" (Yee, 2005: 1)

Shall head down for a wholesome breakfast, then have a nice long day of classes. :)

Nothing beats a good night's rest :)

Great. This girl called Grace Lee is going to be doing her presentation in Room 204 too. We're both addressing music piracy. Better still, hers is before mine. Despite it being 2 hours ealier, I'm not quite looking forward to the idea of comparison.

Oh My Brocolli's & Grapes. (!!!)

Now now, gather all thY thoughts. Its rebuttle time! :D

I will be a happy girl once tomorrow is over. (For a while, I note, for a while) :)

intensive

Smile, without a reason why
Love, as if you were a child,
Smile, no matter what they tell you
Don't listen to a word they say
Cause life is beautiful that way.

Tears, a tidal wave of tears
Light, that slowly disappears
Wait, before you close the curtain
There is still another game to play
And life is beautiful that way

Keep the laughter in you eyes
Soon your long awaited prize
We'll forget about our sorrows
And think about a brighter day
Cause life is beautiful that way.

We'll forget about our sorrows
And think about a brighter day,
Cause life is beautiful that way
There's still another game to play
And life is beautiful that way.

i'd have all the money in the world

Yes, i'd very much like to be rich girl just like gwen stefani. But we cant see that far into the future, can we? so..thats that.

My brain is 73% female and 27% male. It doesnt seem to show. Yes J. You have a more girly brain than mine. Ironic my love.

I realise I cant sit down and begin work. Like other people, I need a starting point to gather my thoughts (such as doing a crossword etc) before moving on to something more interllectual. :) I should buy a book too.

Right. Moving right on.

Sunday, October 09, 2005

oh right

Your Brain is 73.33% Female, 26.67% Male

Your brain leans female
You think with your heart, not your head
Sweet and considerate, you are a giver
But you're tough enough not to let anyone take advantage of you!

What Gender Is Your Brain?

again

I was making tea for lunch just now, when it hit me that there's a serious problem with me. a very serious problem. Maybe, we'll even change that to problemS. Each time there's a screw up, I dont face it. Ever so conveniently, I just turn away and pretend life never happened.

But thats the wrong attitude to take. An absolutely grave mistake in my life.

This reflecting hasnt been a matter of one night. Its been going on for a week but duration doesnt have any significance.

This is a path in life I've chosen, and its not something I should look back to and regret.

Have you ever, ever felt like the dumbest idiot in this entire universe? One that couldnt possibly have anymore letdowns?

There's no time to wallow anymore.

My life is changing, and so am I.

make cents of it

Get up, get out, get out, get out and lift your head
Come on, come on, get up out of bed
Today's the day you hold the world with your song
Go now, go now, go now, help escalate Angels come down,
help with this parade
To hear your voice ring out
Come on and shout it
Let your song be heard
This is the time
This is the day that we've been waiting for
All the world will stop to watch you shine
Hey now, hey now, hey now, hey now sing your hymn
This is the new national anthem
We will all stand on guard to let you be heard
Let go, let go, let go all that can ask
How beautiful this world has become
Now everyone will see what I believe
That these words should be sung
This is the time
This is the day that we've been waiting for
All the world will stop to watch you shine
This is the time
This is the day that we've been waiting for
All the world believes that you will shine
And if you fall
And if you fall
And if you trust and
Yes it will come true

dont lie

the used

what kind of song title is that?

anyway, i'm back from self help. yeah, 5-8.30. no wait, make that 8.20ish. what can i say, vassi loves me. and the rest of the darlings working with me :)

the last few days have been nothing but academia. among all things, i've learnt where my priorities lie, how limits can be stretched. most of all, i think its how much you want to achieve something.

i dont know. i think i'm busting my chances. but note to self: all's not over yet. one more month.

damn right. its one more month before first year. strange how life's like that. you begrudge about life when it sucks, when it bites at you. then when its over? you say, 'oh yeah, how time flies'.

love the way li and i catch up online. i mean, you've either got it or you dont? and we've got quite enough chemistry :) o yeah.

for those who are concerned:

little summary - i fell and grazed both knees, some tutor performed first aid on me, and life went on.

but for now, its healing, all good. and i'll be fine. no worries.

will be back. :)
mind's in a little of a mess.

oh crap. its mum's bday tmrw. righto.
