Macdonalds for dinner and air for supper

I sit here in my new building room typing away, blog surfing as a it becomes boring and then...i hear laughter, screams and jokes coming from the courtyard area. It strikes me hard...that I am working on an assignement worth 60%, due tomorrow, and missing out on what certaintly sounds like good fun to me.

But I take comfort in the fact that, by tomorrow one subject will be done, and I'll have three more to hammer. I will finally be able to head down to Bourke Street without guilt, have social contact, and talk to anyone without thinking why Myer is the way it is today.

There isnt the stress you feel at 6am when your Biology final is at 9am. But the tension is definitely there.

Everyone pretend to be normal

Nuff' said.

lets wait till they become crisp

I dont know how to fill this space this very moment. I keep typing a sentence and pressing "backspace". My mind's been a whirlwind of thoughts and I am starting to see why. Maybe its the Acceptance letter I need to collect on Monday, or the Marketing Assignment due on Tuesday, I am clueless.

It could be that I just watched One Tree hill and that episode was freakish and outlandish, but almost appealing to me. These shows, movies like Girl Interrupted intrigue me. I am probably, most possibly a little irrational and stressed.

I dont know why I remember these things like I need to account for history. I feel the need to give the typical entry with some kind of relief, excitement and estacy that one should rightfully feel. But I cant muster the emotional strength to think back before moving forward.

Meanwhile, its all about Myers and their Advertising Plan...

Its gotta be the Sunshine State Baby!

A state that's untouchable like Elliot Ness
The track hits ya eardrum like a slug to ya chest
Pack a vest for your Jimmy in the city of sex
Its that sunshine state with a bomb ass hemp beat
the state where ya never find a dance floor empty
And pimps be on a mission for them greens
lean mean money-makin-machines servin fiends
been in the game for ten years makin rap tunes
ever since honeys was wearin sassoon
It's all good, from Diego to tha Bay
Your city is tha bomb if your city makin pay
Throw up a hand if ya feel the same way
Its gotta be Californ-i-A.
That's rightwest coast

universal truths

i typed something here just now but it is gonna be replaced becauase i need to rant. there is a need to express how truly frustrating the whole computer virus incident has been for me and well..the ones fixing it.

the more annoying crunch to all this is my in class exam tomorrow. it is daunting just knowing you have an hour to answer a question and write as much as you can about the subject. okay, fine. i exaggerated. they gave us the question way before hand but no one bothered to give it a peek until week 11. my lamest excuse ever: the question is grammatically wrong. anyhow, this is all happening at 3.15 tmrw. lovely.

am i ranting? i think i feel i sound like i'm not making an sense at all.

it must have been on Grey's Anatomy where Meredith mentioned that "Its universally acknowledged that the moment one bit of your life looks a teeny bit better, another falls right apart." cant help but admit that phrase just hit me between the eyes and bit my ass.

a part of me wants to look through this entire load of crap and correct any typos, undo any wrongs, but i dont care. not today, not about this.

tonight, i'd be really content with a cuppa coffee and some divine inspiration. so before all this happens heres my thanks to the big man watching.

good night.

I left AA for CA!

So I decided its no point craving for alcohol. Might gain more estacy going for..buttersnap cookies! You have no idea how great it'd be to sit by a warm fire at the top of a mountain...with Earl Grey tea (some milk and a wee bit of sugar) and the cookies.

Have I told you I'm a honourary member of Cookies Anonnymous?

Sometimes I think polar bears have such good life.

For now, basketball should suffice.

killing me not so softly

today i told someone my title would be "She goes to Melbourne Uni and does know how to pee". it is true, i went to the loo at the commerce building. ahh, the things they dont teach in mirco/macro economics: how to be precise in your aiming.

i dont want to write in coherent sentences because at this very moment i think i could do with beer, or two. or a shot, or two. its just a placid thursday night listening to a display of musical talents. this doesnt do any of the music justice but you just gotta take my word for it.

let me apologize in advance or i might as well do it now. its been a pretty long day and hanging out in wala wala tonight would've made my week.

signing up for AA is a good idea eh. not until i get a drink soon. thanks.

Its a price to pay for stupidity

Why? Cos its 5am and I'm thinking about Ebay. Its not some online shopping spree, dont worry. Its a silly billy lemon squeezy assignment!

Today's a little different, I'm not typing at 2am. I got up then only to hear the college fire alarm system go off half an hour or so after. We have no sense of urgency cos it didnt go off at the New Building. But we go down anyway because we're asian. Singapore and Malaysia has taught us the need to fear for our dear lives. But of course the Malaysians would rather head back to complete their House episode on charred bodies than get blinded by blue and red sirens or deafened by the resounding alarm. Ironic. On the other hand, the Singaporeans hang around till its absolutely safe to leave. Our country has ingrained insecurity and such compulsiveness in us, you know no room for muck ups. And of course, we have Bowen who turns up half naked and turns down the offer for a jacket.

One of the other memorable moments was a girl saying, "firemen were supposed to be hot". O gotta love it. It was 2am and they were probably dozing off while chewing a 2 day old sandwhich. Only someone with overflowing charisma like hugh grant or nicholas cage could pull it off.

Imagine how people'll dress if there was a real fire and there wasnt time to put on that bath robe, shirt or pants for that mattter. Scary, disturbing thoughts. Right, it stops there.

So we hear its someone who smoked and threw it in the bin. The bin caught fire, obviously. And It was near the kicthen. We were just taking a piss at the different interpretations. Soon, they are gonna say someone was stuck in the kitchen. Or maybe Rossi was trying to steal food from the kitch. But anyway, heart goes out to the those in Clunies and hope they're all asleep. It is 5.19 for the fire's sake.

Moving swiftly along, I have to say whoever is hitting the hug poll, thanks heaps. Even if its just from one person. If only these blog things could combine the hug and message functions. Now, that'll be a novelty.

Creativity in the early morn. Now thats why advertisers and marketing people live like zombies and overdose on caffeine.

its Yup, not yaya.

There is a nauseating feeling which keeps churning at the bottom of my insides. It must be the consequence of abstainingand taking the crazy strong coffee at uni. It is probably migrane. But at this present moment I dont care.

Feeling sick for 10 hours isnt funny after the first. Which suggests that being pregnant has got to be some hell lot of discomfort. And we're not talking normal nausea, we're talking wanting-to-puke-every-half-an-hour nausea despite efforts including sleeping, chewing gum, drinking tea and all other humanly possible methods.

And since we're touching of my declining state of health, lets touch on my bleeding nose. Dont be deceived by my nearly non-existent ligament of a nose. That button like part of my anatomy can produce some bucket loads of blood I could fool you into thinking I murdered someone in the shower. My close ones know how terrible the nose situation is, but there really isnt a solution yet. Except water.

I paint a bleak situation comparable to a helpless kid in Africa, but it isnt all that bad. Hey, I'm blinking, breathing, and still accessing technology at 1.15am in the morning. One should probably be thankful for that. For now.

Take that !

Ripped this off Jeannie's. Too irresistable.
Myth #1: A Bachelor of Arts degree is not enough to find a well-paying, interesting job. I need to go to graduate school, Law School, the Faculty of Education, or a technical training institute to be competitive for professional employment.
Fact #1:

Further academic study is not a pre-requisite for finding lucrative and interesting employment immediately after completing a Bachelor of Arts degree. People should not think Arts students need to pursue further education simply because they do not know what else to do or feel they cannot secure a well-paying job without it.

According to a survey conducted in 2001 by the University Presidents' Council of BC, BC Arts graduates are employed with an average salary of $46,000 annually within 5 years of graduating, without having any further college or university study.

The reason for this is that most professional careers fall outside of the mainstream or traditional jobs of 'Lawyer', 'Teacher', 'Doctor', or 'Professor'. Many are within Arts students' reach upon graduation, particularly if they have already identified their unique interests and abilities, researched occupations, networked with industry professionals, volunteered or worked in related fields, and rounded out their academic education with other activities.

The following are examples of job titles held by Arts graduates, ranging from non-profit, to private business, to government:

  • Analyst
  • Events Planner
  • Advertising Executive
  • Marketing Professional
  • International Developer
  • Corporate Trainer
  • Technical Writer
  • Graphics/ Web Designer
  • Entrepreneur
  • Program Coordinator
  • Vocational Counselor
  • Advisor
  • Facilitator
  • Manager
  • Director
  • Supervisor

Technically, my degree happens to fall under Arts. But I still love my Media and Comms anyway.

its hit me

Spring and summer is happening and its right here and now.

The shopping frightens me a little, but squelling at a gorgeous necklace or sexy barebacked dress is actually becoming the norm.

Okay, so Candice called me a bimbo. But that cant beat the pure joy of spending seventy dollars on accessories alone right? Someone said the way my face lights up...scary. Regardless, a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do. Period.

She's gotta bust her megabytes on online window shopping and physically go insane at the shops. The word SALE on bright red poster makes me euphoric and beyond.

Quite literally, the smallest things make me happy.

Record Writing Time

Priceless and Precious.

There is a lady I know; she’s a year older today

Full of beauty and charisma I say

I haven’t seen her around, not in a while

But I still love her across of thousands of miles.

It’s been 19 years and I’m sure she’d much prefer

Life without burdens but good bargains on offer

How patient she’s been means the world to me

She’s more than a teacher, she’s great company!

Given the chance to change life all over

I wouldn’t have it any way other

Sometimes we hope life could be better

But its all right just knowing that I’ve got her.

She’s been a friend for talks at the balcony

Deep down she’s aware how spirited they make me

Funny how they’re convinced she’s my sister,

She must look young or I’m beginning to wither.

So happy birthday mum, 6th October’s your day!

May all my joy be sent to you without FedEx or delay.

Perhaps I’ve learnt, during the months I’ve been away,

Words I haven’t said, calls I haven’t made.

Part of me will move always as you move.

you’re the distance in my heart that can never be removed,

It’s more than a day to mark you birth

This is reminding you how you’re more than you think you’re worth.

There’s nothing that beats our random chats

About life in general or a concern you have

I love how we pig out then resolute to lose weight

Since we both know, that only applies to me but though you still look 38!

some calm before the storm

so its the end of the first academic week since the spring break and i kind of established before that i'm allergic to school. given time, i'm sure this aversion would die off. and more headaches will come on. in fact, i just popped 2 panadol pills before deciding to ramble utter gibberish to no one in particular.

but i must say, my headaches are reduced and this missy is not needy for any form of paracetamol whatsoever. if you didnt know you me, you might mistake me for a pill popping street side druggie. okay, not that bad, but at least i got your attention and you got my drift.

it must be all the bucketloads of tea i've begun to consume since the spring break. i must be drinking about four to five cuppas each day. i fool myself when i tell others i've been trying to "decaff". "de-coffee" would be more appropriate. but anyway, that caffaine story tucked nicely at one corner.

at the end of all this ranting, my headache hasnt mysteriously left me. stupid paracetamol hasnt kicked in quick enough.

whatever is happening just doesnt seem to be good enough.

first week of a new term and guess what?

how are you

Everyone bubbly person is entitled to be dark and twisty inside.

For even the slightest of us, time seems to play tricks, slowing down, hovering until it freezes. This leaves us stuck in a moment, unable to move in one direction or another.

All we ever want is time. Time to stand up, time to grow up and time to let go. Just time to understand it all.

There is a woman in this world who always appears collected, always seems with it. She is strong for others. But now I think its time I hold her hand.

Among many things, thats what I'm here for. And I'll be standing here till th cows fly and the pigs turn green.

flirting with danger

Wonderful. Its the first day heading back to uni and I am on my way to breaking the healthy sleeping patterns established during the spring break. This is all thanks to the network sharing of third season tee vee series. Its got Greys, House and Prison Break. Life couldnt get better.

In more delightful news, I realised my presentation and in class assessment is actually happening next week. Fantastic. You see, thats whats happens when you've spent the last two weeks wandering along the coast lines. It throws you out of context.

So with more responsibility, and actually bothering about my fatigue and some preparation, it wouldnt take a rocket scientist to realise this final stretch is gonna be liveable.

I should be out on the grass...or at the court. Today is too beautiful to be caught indoors.

been around Victoria & never seen one like this

believe me, i've tried labelling the photos. but all 351 of them at two goes isnt even sufficient. so hang in there cos more candid moments will be up. the even more amusing ones of us surfing would be worth the wait.

meanwhile, settle for these:

we tried being serious

it just wouldnt cut it

big kids and our fair share of fun

me and kei

the bridge rocked. literally.

me kei ling alex

makes you wish you lived in one of those

bazookers it was.

just for the man himself.

its a great pose. try it sometime.

the grotto. we climbed in illegally.

and our stay at fiona's. all her siblings.
2 sistas and one brotha. twas good fun!

Meanwhile, its back to the mundane lifestyle of academia and four miserable weeks of university life. Plus the cherry on my blackforest cake has got to be my one and only paper on the 21st! That dashes previous hopes of wanting the whole of november to chill and hang out with friends 24/7.

I should fret not, there's always chill out time anyway.

Peace out, yo.

peektures and fixtures

me and alex had this butt thing

all four of us big kids at the playground

we waded in shallow waters

watched whales

took few group photos

surrended to fish and chips

went absolutely bazookers when it came to photo taking

practically sunbathed

practised flying

basked in breath taking scenes

we were blown away

quite literally

we knocked ourselves out

the bridge was rockin

and thats just a very estatic kei. o gotta love that priceless expression.

This story isnt even half complete.

Stay Tuned.
