good ol times

Its been a while since I stayed out till 4AM in the morning just chilling + chatting + eating + drinking. :) It was good fun with the guys. Much Man-talk. But it was enlightening for sure.

So its 1.14, I just got up, and am heading out soon too. I'd like to imagine myself as a great host. Meeting Ian and Co. every day except tmrw. I also had my first bday dinner! :) YAY. Then there's tmrw arvo + night.

Bday = good dinners + lunches = extra weight. Which, in the context, not a bad thing I guess.

So TMRW LUNCH MARCHE at 12.00. Is what I'm thinking..I should double check with yingyi and text you guys.

LOVE :)

coming of age!

Morning greetings from the land of the fog. Random thoughts, since it looks like the estate in view is being fogged. O our so blury lives.

Right. Ignore that. And moving swiftly along from any irrelevance...

I <3 seafood! & seafood it is for dinner! I am quite glad I've got these 2 Malaysians with me. They're fantastic company. Lets call them Ian & Co. It would be fun to see how they go for their 12.30-5.30 sushi buffet later this arvo. Somehow, I feel less Singaporean when I'm with them! But hey, I wont ask for more.

In more historical news...

We all know how insufficient 2 hours can be. In many way such as the follwing: You could have an exam and base your entire career on it! You could...walk up and down Orchard and STILL not find a friend. You could..sit at home and flip through a magazine and wonder how great you'd look in that dress!

OR

You could spend it with good company just shopping and chit chatting. Just like I did with Steph yest. Plus, we're going to be supporting The Arts Scene on both Monday and Tuesday next week! Van-dee-foo. (And no darling I wont be in berms!) I cant waittt. Okay, now I'm getting crazy.

And you could BUST (I felt the need to CAPS it. No Pun intended. Really) an entire day being a hermit at home watching Hongkong TV Drama (Which is highly entertaining)...

OR

Go a tad insane and be promised a laughter filled night. Picture 2 Malaysians on 2 basic missions to complete in 4 days- to shop and indulge to the greatest extent possible. (Insert: Big round collared shirt, baggy three quarts and always seen with at least one shopping bag). Ian's friend (lets just call him Mofo) is highly amusing! He bought 4 sets of Koraen DVDs! Thanks to the 50% and 70% reductions. Thank God for th GSS! But still. 4 is a little much. Ian and Co. are fervent shoppers. They're about 2 of me combined when I shop for clothes. Scary stuff right! Regardless, both of them are goood company!

Dinner at RiceHouse (? Some indonesian Retaurant at Suntec) + Superman Returns = Contented Char.

HOKAY. And my dad is van-dee-foo! I really should appreciate that every morning I get up all groggy & breakfast is the table. Sometimes I think I need to work on being better daughter. But thats another issue so.

so HI EVERYONE! I AM ALIVE & HYPER ! <3 LOTS OF LOVIN.

P.S I dont actually keep track of who reads this but HI HI to randoms :)

HOKAY DOKAY MONKAY FUNKAY

I knew the survey would get people a little curious. And I was definite it would get Eddie talking about my 2 step dancing. Its not that bad hokay..its getting there! Just you wait and see :)

Yesterday I had to make a last minute cancel on the Lovelies (Va, J, Dith, Aude)I really really wanted to see :/ These things alwys happen to me. I was all dressed up. But just before leaving the house, a migrane struck. So the two hours following that was spent leaning on the sink regurgitating over and over or lying in bed feeling arrows through my brain during a civil war (choose a civil war but from yesterday's experience, I'm sure they have many arrows to spare). It came to a point where i began to scare myself. I even wondered how it'd feel to be admitted. A somewhat Greys Anatomy episode kept replaying over and over. (I know, my life tends to be a a tad dramtic at times) So I was saying something. Right. Those migranes..mean scary business. Bad..bad migranes. In short, I was literally running on empty for 2 hours. Oh the words of Craig David.

And one thing I learnt? Is never to eat fruit or drink cold water when you're hurling. Instead, drink warm water! Nothing stayed in my system. Well, with the exception of water. Gee, that was something.

I hve to say..the most comforting news so far is mum telling me it could be genetic. Oh thanks. But its Liveable. So its okay.

Now that I'm more convinced that the sun in singapore is evil and is possibly a trigger for my migrane, I will retreat to my non-living companions: the bed, the laptop, the magazines and books.

I'm just happy to be alive being in pain yesterday. This would probably make the charts for "Most terrifying experience", with Child Birth right at the top. Not speaking from experience. Just imagining..Actually, lets not imagine.

LOL.

rain flies :settle and die

I really should be providing information on my Beijing trip. It was ace, by the way. The thing is, I was there for a week so give me some time to step out of the culture before I give you my 2 dollars worth on my insights.

In totally irrelevant news...I pretend to be independent of the rapid technological changes which fascinate me. Sometimes, escaping this so called "high-life" and trekking to the mountains where I stay uncontactable intrigues me. The only thing is, this relationship (you know..between the Internet and Me) seems to be getting a little..unhealthy.

Life is going on all the same. But the internet and wireless connections were made specially for people who seem to be retreating into perpetual hermit mode.

People like...me.

wait a moment

after a 4 hours delay at beijing international airport, the yee family is home :) thats YEE-absoutely good news!

it could've been worse. so thank goodness for good service and the paps company on board. we're seriously lame together.

If you had to do just one thing for a girl

This arvo, my mum pulled me aside to the master bedroom and asked me about my liking for white guys. Wonderful. Thats an entry for another time.

But before I leave and put my sub standard Chinese to practical use, I just wanted to say a few things.

My dears in Melbourne having their exams, hang in there! (:

Those in Singapore, if you got trouble, give me a ring on the mobile. Beijing and Singpaore have no time difference! How awesome.

Mae, havent spoken to you in a day or two, but msg me if anything.

Ian, did I miss your 3 calls? Check your MSN e mail. Oh and if there's anything you know where to get me yah.

Okay, I really need to pack or my mum'll freak when she sees my clothes lying all over my bed instead of the luggage.

Lots of loving!

BEIJING CITY here i comeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

(And I'll look for a CheongSam for you Stepho! Oh, and woman. Panic Productively :) )

its crunch time & you'll know it

I've come back for a week or so. And what have I been doing, really? Meeting my darlings, yes. Catching up with Charissa in the presence of lovely life music @ acid bar! Its that sort of night where good music and good company come together. What more could a girl ask for (Honestly, a truck lot, but for the moment it sufficed).

It doesnt take a famous person or any scholarly student to tell you that the truth usually hurts. I think I've learnt that, in a not so hard way. I've been worrying about myself, worrying about my close ones worry for me. I mean, this has got.to.stop.

So it will. :) I decided that walking into the same trap I did a while ago would be foolish. Doing so would only reflect uncanny (here ian, i used it!) stupidity and absolute oblivion. I can take a safe bet that even a psychology degree holder wouldnt fathom the thoughts of this one particular individual.

It knaws at my conscience, you know. How long its taken me to realise such simple things (insert any other words which are the like of 'tricks' or 'ploy'). Gosh I can be so niave sometimes. But hey, it could've been worse. Thank goodness I found out early.

It amazing that I lost respect for this person in such a short time. It almost reached a level of contempt and disgust. But thats okay, cos its shoved under the carpet.

So umm, now that I got that off my chest, have a good weekend! (hello to those in Singapore/Msia it fathers day on Sunday!)

In other news, I will be away in Beijing (dong chiang X2 dong chiang chiang chiang) from the 19th-24th! Will be back with my wealth of knowledge and I also promise candid shots of the family!

To the other people who are flying as well:

LI, my dear girl, you be safe is jakarta and have a BLAST. You will have lots to tell me on the 26th when I next see you! :) Lots of loveee!

Tay Ian Wei! Let me first mention your dog is super cute. Also, have a safe flight home =) I'm looking forward to seafoood when I see you!

And everyone else, be safe. be nice (when you can, i know its hard).

Oh and um finally...PEACE OUT YO.

denial depression

dont worry, i'm not suffering from that.

as of today, i would have been back for 4 days. its passed in a blur, mostly because i find my bed and a novel way too compelling. i will eventually realise that i have concerned friends who havent seen me in a while.

so tmrw i show some sign of life, meeting shu in the arvo for karaoke. then its charissa for din din (and possibly drinks after)! so just to confirm, i am alive. :)

Just for someone called Ian Tay:

Most of our life is a series of images. They pass us by like towns on the highway. But sometimes a moment stuns us as it happens. And we know that this instant is more than a fleeting image. We know that this moment, every part of it, will live on forever.

the 3-1 historic moment

I AM HOME! Have I mentioned that before? The number's still the same so give me a buzz and we can head out for a smashing good time!

Thats exactly what I'm going to do today. Drop the half dead (or possibly totally dead) laptop off at Parkmall before heading out to meet the darlings li and den! :) Was on the phone with li last night and boy was that hard core girl talk :) its great! So even though I've been updated about her life in just about 3 hours, I still want to meet her! And Den toooo. Reliving the good ol days are my favs :)

And I finally got an e mail reply (in the absence of an sms reply) but its cool. All's okay so far. So I'm not like a pot of ants on hot fire. I'm still...chilling.

Jia if you're reading this, I hope your paper went okay! :)

And so its been family time thus far, and lots of good food. Now I'd admit my parents spoil me :) But hey, whats the young one got to complain about right? :) I love the parents! And so should you.

Hurry all you people still taking exams! Come home and soak up the Singapore loving with me! :)

Say, who is Miss Universe?

She is Miss Universe YO.

And I'm Miss Quite Very Happy :) simply because:

And I still have half a room to pack (I dont quite know how that fits in)
Its good to clear things up...

a few lines

Keanu Reeves is sad of his lonely life and wishes to get married.

Hmn. Hey man, there's this girl in Australia. She studies very hard in Melbourne and lives in beautiful International House. And she is me. :)

read in between the lines.

HAHAHA.

ian o ian

I just received this sms from ian asking me to play foos downstairs. He must be a tad insane (!) He does these thing with full knowledge that I have a paper on Friday that I'm confidently unprepared for. And you should take my word for it when I say, and repeat, confidently.unprepared.for.

So there, I'm still surfing silly websites like friendster (-_-) good gosh magpie squah, someone get me a life as well as blog surfing! (my absolute favourite past time when stress gets to me)

It makes me thrilled and distracted when I think of my Sunday arvo flight back home. As I squeked to Ben yesterday, I "absolutely cant wait! cant wait!" (!!!)

2 more days. O two. er. DU-AH!

wheeeeeeeee.

free is good

Free is good - thats whats written on Sam's stressball, which he has graciously passed on to me! :)

Anyway, now its all about how much I can write in the two hours. one hour for each question. O well. I've conveniently (and very lazily) spotted 3 topics. But as of now, I am only familiar with two. Right, I will work on the last one. Like, tonight. Hmn.

Now I heard Niro and Sam testing each other Medical Knowledge. Wonderful, those people.

I was trying to say that:

Free is good.

this time tomorrow

In about 24 hours, I will be one step closer to liberation.

All she wants to do is dance dance dance

Right, I'm sitting here at the same round table as three economics students, namely Yvonne, Claire and Yingyi.

My point is, studying in this apartment is awesome stuff :) Very conducive. After the entire semester, I gather that I seriously can't study in my own room. I know its a bigger than last year's. But I just concentrate there! Too claustraphobic.

2 more days till the 1st exam. This is it, and its not as funny as I thought it was.

Breathe...in.

and out, of course.

and on a very much lighter note, I am going to be in the land of the sun, or the dot, or whatever you wish to call Singapore...in 7 DAYS! ONE WEEK!

jems and pie for lunch

Kei asked at the lunch table just now, "why does everyone have lack of sleep?".

Its probably because most work most efficiently throughout the night, where there is complete silence, such that they get the most work done.

But evidently, our darling Kei is a morning person.

Which is also true to say...I'm not. But thats an issue I'll deal with later. My exams're in the afternoon anyway. Thank Goodness.

Okay, back to fried jems, MnMs, a shower and then study! The stress levels are peaking.

Creativity's Great, Isn't It?

SBS
8.30 Life Isn't All Ha Ha Hee Hee Pt 2
9.35 World News Australia
10.05 Orgasmatron

11.00 Movie: Turn Left, Turn Right (2003)
12.40 Movie: Shooting Stars (2002)
2.15 Temporary Close
5.00 WeatherWatch & Music
5.25 Japanese News

Seriously. Life isnt all that HA HA HEE HEE? HA HA to that!

ORGASMATRON? I dont wanna know.

SBS is great in their own ways. But this, is not drawing the line between creative and ridiculous. If SBS needs an extra hand, mines up! I'll come up with better ones like, life isnt all TEH HEE HEE!

And with the ORGAMATON...lets not go there at all.

2 down 2 to go

So I finally submitted the essay that i was granted an extension for. and thats the end of essays @ home this semester. the exam will beckon more essay writing. You then sit down to realise that its:

5 days till my first exam
8 days till my second exam and the
and 10 days till i leave melbourne!

I dont think its settled in very much. That its SWOTVAC, that its real meaning is School WIthOut Teaching VACation and not sit-around-in-your-room-in-the-middle-of-the day-and-type-an-entry-VACation.

Before I move on to prepare for my 2 exams, let me share the joy of finally subimitting the essay and ending Poltiics, Communication and the Media. Its been bearable, only because Juls and I doodle in class, we mock people's funny accents and just have a ball of a good time in those tutorials.

Oh, and we learn a thing or two too! You know, about the Fourth Estate, watching Stephen Colbert's videos, watching video clips on Australian Advertising from the 70s till today. Its been a lot of visual pleasure to make up for the lack of, you know, words.

...

I've spent long enough on this page. Time to get cracking!

Don't forget!

Roses are red
Violets are blue.
