You'll have to bear with my post-Black Canyon blues because we all miss it as a group. Its so blurry back to civillization, to the world of clocks, assignments, people, real cooked food and technology. I think when Sean thought of this quote he was really hitting the right spot. It goes:

And there's gonnna be a reunion and I think its on the 9th, when I'll be in Malibu. So that officially sucks too.

So Im back from dinner with Hsien Xiong, his mum, bro, jz and gab. Soup Plantation is always the bomb with heaps of salads/soups/muffins! Awesome.

Whats exceedingly awesome was rowing down Colorado River. Its a kind of high I cant explain. Its the happiness you feel when you have an instant connection with random strangers put together wih one common interest. Its like a love explosion, except that we dont go so far to kiss. That said, we hug. Then it continues with Facebook stalking, checking people out, whether they are single, and how the look when they're clean. All that just to say, I really miss the rowing, I miss the compaionship of so many people and its surreal to be back in LA.

I really dont mind the sore arms and thighs aching, just you know, bring me back to the river.

It started with

a two hour wait for vans. But it made life worth it because we got to know each.

I spent the past few days canoeing up and down the Colorado River. Which was beyond awesome. The group of people are cute, hilarious, sacarstic and warm at the same time. Great OA bunch! Definitely looking forward to the reunion.

I should sleep if I want to make it to class to hand in an essay.

Just when I deviced the grand plan to sleep in...

Believe it or not

the guy serving coffee at the cafe near the dorms is pretty charming. He's probably one of the few guys who know that my usual order is a Mocha, any style.

I was reminded today that no one likes exams. Prior to this, I thought Take Home Exams were cool. But now, I cant come up with a good excuse if I do badly. You've got the qustions, choose 2 and have 2 external sources. And somehow writing and typing a whole lot of crap makes typing require more justice.

On to more serious business, Im off to canoe through the Black Canyon/ along Colorado River/Hoover Dam. Not packed at all.

I'll try not to drown, and you dont get too excited waiting for pictures. Thats you Kei! Im gonna do this jumping off a cliff thing, and by cliff I mean 6 metre high rock. For your sanity, you pray I'll be home safe!

I feel as if

i have this intrinsic fear i suffer from shrot term memory and need to narrate my life. like someone's gonna rip my memories off me.

today didnt feel like LA. it was simple. SN girls (Hailin, Hweeping, SiQi, SiQin, Shuwei. Valen thought she was too cool for us.) and a couple of friends hanging out around our favourite places. shopping, eating, chilling, catching up. us kids from canada, singapore, and permamnent kids at LA met up. it was a warm feeling, not having to make small talk and getting to know a random stranger from point zero. been all over the world, and its undoubtedly the best when high school friends are there to share special places.

this week is almost impossible unless i get an extension for an assignment due next tuesday. otherwise i'll be royally screwed over tomorrow night and my weekend trip wouldnt be well spent.

and since i know you're dying to know whats playing on my list. its Sean Kington's Beautiful Girls. some people dont think much of it, but its a catchy song which keeps my eyes open.

My parents were right

when they gave me the tip of the lifetime. They told me that life is cruel. Okay fine, they didnt. They forgot to mention a lot of people are shallow, and reality hits you in between your eyes. Someones stabbing the iris. Blinding.

I need to rant because, I have just taken my Take Home Exam due in on Friday but I'll be emailing it in n Thursday since Ive got a kickass canoeing trip this Memorial Day Weekend! Hoyeah. So i'm giving myself a 24 hour deadline. And this dude is going to Melbourne Uni for exchange! How awesome.

It really isnt my fault

that abc.com has been consumed by a bug of some sort. As a result, the Autumn in my heart episodes on youtube.com would have to suffice. My life is great, because I get hooked to these serials when it time for the second mid term. Lovely, and there's so much work to be done. Mostly becaue I've declared the last 4 weeks a holiday.

Work time, and some youtube loving. I'll update again when I snap out of the drama madness. In a bit!

Who's your usual client?

I was planning my summer time here, when I decided to take an innocent visit to www.victoriasecrets.com. That website is alot rolled into one ball. By that I mean all together infuriating and inspirational. Simply because the models are skinny yet steaming hot. Toned and tanned. Definitely a rare sight today. Dang, they sizzle.

In other news, I woke up for my 8am class and went for it. Beat that. I jumped out of bed at 7.30am to listen to an ex UN officer talk about his experience with the ECOSOC. I call it "Echosocks".

Its the 8th of May and crap its 5 days to Mothers Day. My darling brother got the dates wrong and sent her a card by the 3rd. Two things. He doesnt tell me he's sending her sth, cos usually its me. Then he sends it to her a century earlier than the entire world. Both factors make me look like the most unfilial child of the universe.

Then again, its less than a week to that special day, and I havent quite thought about it. Best daughter in the world.

What is everyone doing here so early?

So I haven't had anything worth reading in quite a while. Why, lets see.

- Spring Sing was awesome!! I heart school spirit, it kinda reminded me of St nicks. But on a hee-uge-err scale. Look em up on youtube. Key in "ucla spring sing 2007". Take my word for it. What you cant see is Quincey Jones, the real man/inspiration for The Pursuit of Happiness, The playgirl from The Girl next door and the entire panel of celebrity judges. Star struck, baby!

- My one and only mid term flew by and I went in with 100% attitude, 98% confidence and 20% knowledge. It was entirely bullshit, and I might just fail it. I comfort myself with its 25% weightage. For non-math majors, that 75% left to save my skin.

- Things arent ironed out yet, but I might stay for the summer. That also means more of LA and scrapping my grand plan to trample all over the East coast or visiting Taipei with zee family.

- ABC.com has consumed me. Greys Anatomy, Desperate Housewives, Brothers and Sisters, Ugly Betty, Notes from Under the Belly, What About Brian and all that jazz. Nuff'said there.

- 8am classes, which I skip too often for 3rd year. 4pm discussion classes, which I grace with my absence to sit in at Tsunami to catch up with people I see almost daily.

- The Festival of Books. The whole package with Pamela Anderson, Mitch Albom, Dr Phil, Julie Andrews and the lack of some Amy Tan. UCLA's good stuff!

- UCLA radio. Hmn.

- Marie Claire, its going a-okay.

- Heading to the gym. Damn straight! Preping myself for Undie Run and the UCLA run/walk. There's just way too much to do. I love this.

- Writing random notes to people back in Melbourne. Kei, you've got a couple.
